That's Life for Luton- presenter turns politician

Former TV presenter Esther Rantzen is preparing to take on the main parties in Luton South after announcing she will be standing as an independent MP. The town’s current Labour MP Margaret Moran is standing down at the next general election after she was caught up in the expenses scandal. 

The Childline founder said: “I’m doing it because it’s important and it may just be that the British public still have an appetite for change and a cold breath of fresh air. For me it’s a bit like going to the moon, a small step for a woman, a big step for independents.”
