Independent Network Seeks Indie Candidates

The Independent Network (IN) is looking for candidates to endorse for next year’s general election and London ’s local elections. They ask that all aspiring Independents get in touch.

Jim Thornton, Executive member says, ‘We are endorsing candidates to set a high standard for Independents. We hope that IN endorsement will act as a quality marker for Independent candidates and build a national identity for non-party politicians’.

Endorsement has numerous benefits such as:

- Use of the IN logo

- Guidance with election campaigns

- Access to a network of volunteers and affiliates

- Publicity of candidates on the IN website

- The ability to contact other Independent candidates across the UK

- Public relations and media support (national and local press)

The IN requests that candidates apply for endorsement much like a job; they need to provide a CV, two unrelated references, a campaign plan and disclose any unspent convictions.

Livia Oldland , IN Researcher explains ‘When you run for Parliament you are applying for an important role in society. Our endorsement process ensures we support good quality candidates who would make excellent elected representatives’.

Endorsement is open to all UK Independent candidates.
