New Executive Committee

The Independent Network’s executive committee was formed at last September’s strategy meeting. The new executive committee members are Neville Watson; Livia Oldland and Jim Thornton; Steven and Daisy Ford. The committee was created to drive the IN’s strategy; perform due diligence on affiliates; and streamline the decision-making process. The committee will oversee strategic decisions ranging from fundraising to organising support and advice for affiliated candidates. 

Oldland said, “When faced with well-organised political parties, the help of the IN will be instrumental in raising the profile of independent candidates.” 
The committee will monitor compliance with the Bell Principles, but, unlike political parties, will never impose policies. This allows members to represent the electorate and their constituents without having to conform to a central party line.
